Invitation to cycle tours along the EuroVelo 4 route in Prague September 19 and 20, 2017
Did you know that two European EuroVelo routes 4 and 7 which can bring you to the French Atlantic coast or to the Adriatic coast cut straight through the center of Prague? Take a journey with us on two afternoons from East to West along the EuroVelo 4 from Horní Počernice and Radotín. The ride for public is organized by Nadace Partnerství in collaboration with the City of Prague as part of the European Mobility Week (September 16-22) activities. The almost 40 km long ride following the signposted route will be divided into two sections with starts at train stations of Radotín (19.9.) and Horní Počernice (20.9.)
September 19 – the first part of the cycle ride along the EuroVelo 4 route from Radotín to Prague 4 and to the first service and info points for cyclists in Prague to community bike workshop Bajkazyl at Náplavka
Join us between 3 and 6 PM at this afternoon cycle ride along the signposted European route EuroVelo 4 – Central Europe route from Radotín in the nature settings along Berounka and Vltava rivers through Lahovice and Chuchle to Prague 5 from which we will cross the Barrandov Bridge and cycle to Prague 4. In this Prague¨s largest city district we will visit some of community gardens and stop by the amazing Podolí waterworks. The ride will finish in Prague first NON STOP SERVIS POINT for cyclists Bajkazyl at Vltava river front. The route is suitable for all types of bikes.
Program:
- Start: 3pm in front of train station Praha – Radotín (option by train leaving Smíchovské nádr. 14:35-14:43), Route: https://mapy.cz/s/20Fwb
- Ride from Radotín along the Berounka river to the confluence with Vltava and through Lahovice and Chuchle to Prague 5
- 4 pm refreshment stop at the cycle friendly establishment Na zámečku http://www.cyklistevitani.cz/Objekty/Na-zamecku.aspx
- 4:30 stop at playground na Mlejnku in Braník, community gardens of Prague 4 and Podolí waterworks
- 6pm – finish at NON STOP SERVIS POINT for Prague cyclists atBajkazyl Náplavka (www.bajkazyl.cz).
September 20 – the second part of the cycle ride along the EuroVelo 4 route from Horní Počernice to Karlín
One day later we will visit the Eastern parts of Prague. Together with the cycle coordinator of Prague 20 we will visit cycle friendly establishment, a family hotel Čertousy or chateau Chvaly. You will ride on top of metro line between stops Černý most and Rajská zahrada and along a unique rail-trail along Rokytka creek to Karlín. The ride will finish in Kasárna Karlín. The route is suitable for trekking bikes.
Program:
- Start: 3pm in front of train station Praha, Horní Počernice (option by train leaving Prahy-Masarykovo nádr. 14:21-14:35), meet-great Prague 20 cycle coordinator, Petr Uzel
- Ride to Čertousy, visit cycle friendly family hotel Čertousy http://hotel-certousy.cz
- 3:45 depart to Horní Počernice
- 4:15 visit chateau Chvaly
- 4:30 – 6 pm cycle ride on top of metro line B Černý most – Rajská zahrada and to Hloubětín along the Rokytka Greenway, Park Podviní, Thomayerovy sady, Rohanský ostrov, Karlín
- 6 pm finish at Kasárna Karlín (www.kasarnakarlin.cz)
